Apply Gemcare's Radiance 2000 Tarnish Remover Jewelry Polish on a soft flannel cotton or micro-fiber cloth to remove the dull tarnish that is covering the surface of platinum, gold, silver or titanium jewelry metals. Soon it will look new again because this ring cleaner polish restores the original sparkling finish to all jewelry metals.

Rub the shank of the ring onto the jewelry polish. The black tarnish you see on the cloth is the tarnish that does not come off with ordinary cleaners. Tarnish from platinum jewelry metals leaves a brown colored residue on the cloth.

Another method is to rub the jewelry polish directly on to the ring. You will need to apply more pressure on platinum rings when you rub it onto the cloth because platinum is harder and more brittle than gold or silver.

Hold the ring with one hand and use the cloth to polish the smooth surfaces of the ring with the other hand. Clean any tarnish from the nooks and crannies by applying cream on the bristles of a new medium tooth brush. (see below)

This last method allows you to best see how the jewelry polisher brightens the jewelry metal. Buff off the tarnish then rinse the ring with warm water.

Rinse the polished ring in clean warm water before you put it into the diamonds and pearls jewelry cleaner. This helps to keep the jewelry cleaner clean. If you clean over your sink - be sure to plug the sink drain.

NOTE: White gold is composed of gold and white colored metals such as nickel and palladium.

Platinum jewelry does get dull and rhodium is better than having your platinum buffed, but why cover your beautiful platinum with rhodium when rhodium itself will eventually become very dull. The layer of polish on rhodium will wear off in time and the yellow coloring will slowly emerge. Though it will never truly turn into yellow gold, it is still recommended to have your gold jewelry re-rhodiumed every three months to once a year to maintain it's best color and shine.

The quality of rhodium plating process can vary greatly. Applying only one coat of rhodium plating can make the rhodium finish become dull rather quickly with ordinary wear. Radiance 2000 makes platinum jewelry metals look rich and beautiful and it will not remove the rhodium plating if the rhodium has been put on with two coats or with one coat of nickel - followed by one coat of rhodium. The plating on plating seems to enhance the plating process.
